Easter in The Park -
Pooch Parade

Nothing embodies the diversity and creativity of Dallas’ citizens better than this popular annual event that brings together families, children, dogs and bonnets for an entertaining afternoon of music and picnics. The fun begins as thousands of Dallasites gather to form a patchwork sea of picnic blankets at Lee Park, followed by the beloved Pooch Parade which features hundreds of pooches as they make their way down the parade promenade, adorned in fashions ranging from interpretations of sunflowers to ballerina tutus. The competition is fierce as the Celebrity Grand Marshals convene to award Best Dressed Dog, Best Owner/Pet Look-Alike, Best Little Dog and Best Big Dog. The enjoyment continues as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra takes the stage to perform light classics and pop favorites as revelers share food, laughter and an afternoon that echoes neighborhood traditions of the past. Proceeds from the Pooch Parade entry fees and concessions sales benefit the programs of TCA.
