Transformative Impact

That's how University of North Texas President Neal Smatresk describes Jerome "Bruzzy" Westheimer Jr. As we highlight Bruzzy and his wife Gloria as this year's Event Sponsor, we couldn't help but make the connection between a person known for being transformative and a neighborhood that's transforming.

In 2016, Bruzzy received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from UNT and was inducted into the North Texas Athletics Hall of Fame as a Fred McCain Honoree. In 2019, he received the university's highest honor, the Wings of Eagles Presidential Award. And soon, the Ardmore City Schools will open the doors to a new performing arts center thanks to a 2018 bond issue and the Jerome Westheimer Family Foundation.

When asked why it's important to support TCA's work, Bruzzy was quick to say that he likes the organization's new direction and is pleased to see someone addressing the issues involving the restoration and clean-up of the creek. "The Turtle Creek corridor is such a beautiful neighborhood, and it needs to be protected for generations to come. It's something I can get behind and support.", said Bruzzy.

Bruzzy, the TCA leadership, and the board are honored by your support and humbled by the trust you've bestowed upon us. We look forward to working together to ensure a "transformative" impact on the corridor.
